Sired Slayers & Watchers

The Watcher's Council's worst fear is to have one of their own become the very thing that they fight. This concern is not always necessarily out of the goodness of their hearts, it is often fear of embarrassment. The idea is so humiliating to the Council that they take great strides to cover-up any occurrence of this happening. Obviously, a vampire's greatest wish is to sire a Slayer, for games purposes or simply for their own amusement. A few instances of both Slayer and Watcher sirings are as follows.

Cassia Marsilka - As a Slayer in 1527, Cassia was strong, dedicated, and a talented Slayer. She slayed for two years but met her match in the ancient vampire Cyrus. He overpowered her, and sired her in the interest of keeping her as a playmate. Once awakened as a vampire, Cassia fell somewhere in between. She hated humans for having died for them, and she hated the vampires and what she had become. Overcome with self loathing, she killed both humans and vampires relentlessly. She made a name for herself for several hundreds of years, becoming known as a vicious and spiteful demon. She eventually ended up in Sunnydale, California where she tried to first kill and then sire the current Slayer Buffy. After friendship was out of the discussion, the fight continued and she was dusted by Buffy.

Yuki Makimura - The Chinese Slayer fought the Master in around 1800, and lost. She was sired and put to work as one of the Master's own personal servants. She served and protected him faithfully until his death in 1997 at the hands of Buffy Summers. She later came to Sunnydale to not only exact revenge, but to bring her Master back from oblivion. She came very close to do doing so, but was killed in time by Buffy.

Britta Kessler - Britta Kessler didn't have much chance to show the world what she was made of. She was called to be the Slayer on Nov. 8th, 1923. She had been training with her Watcher Frederich for several years and he felt she was immediately ready to fight. The day after her calling, they attended a movie showing of which they suspected was filmed and hosted by vampires. Being unprepared, un readiness, and a cowardly Watcher led to Britta's demise. After allowing all of the people to escape, she became the main target as her Watcher ran away. Britta was attacked by several vampires at once and was sired as a result. Assuming that her Watcher would at least do her the favor of making sure that she didn't rise, the vampires locked him into her mausoleum upon his arrival. They set up cameras and sat back and watched as the Watcher had to fight his own sired Slayer. It is unknown who killed whom.

Zoe Kuryakin - Zoe, like Britta got a pretty raw deal. Zoe had slayed well for two years and was coming up on her eighteenth birthday. Her eighteenth birthday meaning her Cruciamentum, her Watcher administered the shots in the days before as he was supposed to. On her birthday, Zoe began to feel the effects and Ian was apporached with an offer. An ex-Watcher, now a vampire (see below) Creighton Faust knew of Ian's desire to be released from the field work of active Slayer Watcher. He also knew of Ian's dissatifaction with Zoe, thinking her to be less than he had expected. Creighton offerred Ian a crystal with the mystical abilities to hide him in plain sight from the Watcher's Council, and he agreed to allow Creighton to kill Zoe. When Zoe came home complaining of slowed agility, and exhaustion Ian offered a cure for her. Under the premise of giving her medication, he shot her full of penobarbital, knocking her out. Creighton then drank from her as promised, but he didn't stop there. He sired her as Ian protested, panicking about his actions. Once awake as a vampire, she (like Cassia Marsilka) fell in between. She first killed Creighton Faust, and then agreed to forgive her Watcher. She tried to help her herself but suddenly the hunger overcame her, and she drained Ian. Knowing that she couldn't control her hunger and that soon her soul would completely fade, she walked outside into the sunlight.

Buffy Summers - In 1997 Buffy Summers became a vampire under mystical pretenses. After a hellish, nightmare world was unleashed on the world, the world's nightmares began to come true. Buffy herself, feared becoming a vampire and it was so. She never fed, but did allude to the hunger. The spell was broken before she could cause any damage, and Buffy was returned to her normal human self.

Creighton Faust - Not a lot is known of Creighton Faust. He was the Watcher of the active Slayer in 1903, but suddenly disappeared. He was sired in unknown cicrumstances. He then left his Slayer, who went of to commit suicide. They wiped the records of him, leaving only vague sidenotes. He hid from the Watcher's Council using Cagliostro's Crystal which allowed travel into the past. He appeared in New York City in 1952 to offer the Watcher Ian Sykes of the current Slayer a deal. In exchange for releasing the Watcher of the duties that he hated, he would be able to kill the Slayer and would give the Crystal to Ian. Once Ian knocked out the Slayer with penobabital, Creighton not only killed, but sired her. What he didn't count on was that when she came to, she killed him, followed by her Watcher.

Arthur Cabot - As a Watcher, Arthur trained the Slayer potential Rita Gnecco. He moved to Boston to be close to Rita and to her family which was important to both the SIT and her family. He had been training her for a few years when the assault on the Slayer line was made in 1940. On June 6th, 1940, Rita made the fatal mistake of letting the vampires Spike and Drusilla enter, where they killed her parents and sired Arthur in hopes that he would kill his Slayer. As Rita ran for her life, her own Watcher hunted her down into a church where he drained the life from her.
