Bio: Xiaoqin was born in 1836, and was raised in the Way of the Tiger monastery after her parents death by a man named Master Wang. Unbeknownst to her at the time, he was her first Watcher. he taught her hand to hand combat, as well as several fighting techniques. He also taught her morals, life lessons, breathing techniques, and stories of "the divine executioner." The stories were of a girl with more strength than man, the strength to battle demons, and monsters, but had a short life line. He required her to learn about demons, and various creatures, but allowed her to believe that the stories were only that. Xiaoqin dreamed of being the divine executioner with great strength and purpose but assumed the tales would never come true. In September of 1855, when she was 16, Master Wang died at age 98, very old for those times. She stayed at the monastery for 5 months before her wanderlust got the better of her, and she left to explore the world. She made her way to Shanghai, where the extreme differences between men and women caused her to adopt a male persona. She discovered a cellar underneath a burned out hotel where she made a dwelling and began taking in young homeless girls and taking care of, feeding, and clothing them. She saved the girls from hunger, sexual slavery, and death. By the time she was 17, she had saved more than 11 girls from the streets. By day, she dressed as a man and worked at the docks, and at night she was a very talented thief. In May 1856, she woke up to a strange change in her body. She had always been strong for a woman, but she was suddenly stronger, and healing much more rapidly. She shrugged off the new awareness and instead focused on the girls and her jobs. SPent some time as a serving girl for the BLind Turtle Tavern. On June 10th, she encountered an Englishman and followed him for several nights, determined to steal his money. On June 14th, she followed him to the Blue Tiger Warehouse where they were attacked by vampires, and she fought them off. Her Watcher, Connelly was one of those saved, and he attempted to explain her destiny. Though she was afraid, she chose to believe him. She ran and headed home only to find that she vampires had already discovered her cellar and murdered the girls, leaving only 5 year old Nah-Mi, whom they kidnapped. While chasing after the vampires, one of them shot her twice, once in the side, and once in the spine nearly killing her. Connelly saved her, and he put her on a boat and took her to The Way of the Tiger Monastery to heal. No one other than he thought she would make it. She didn't wake up until a week later and couldn't walk. Xiaoqin lost all hope and refused to even try. After 3 weeks of healing, Connelly lost his patience and began to encourage to get up and train. She continued to refuse. He began waking her up by dousing her with cold water, and making her catalogue Master Wang's journals. He wanted nothing more than to infuriate her into fighting. He told her that even if she refused to train that "no one eats for free." About 2 weeks into it, she took to the cataloguing and learned more about demons, vampires, and the evil she was to face once she got back on her feet. Slowly, feeling was beginning to return to her feet and legs, and after a month, she was confident enough to get up and train. Once she was strong again, Connelly encouraged her to get out, find, and save Nah-Mi from Fang-Chou. She was successful in defeating him, and saving the girl. She went on to become a demon researcher and also write her own Slayer journal to pass onto future Slayers.
