India Cohen Bio ~ 1993 - 1996




Notes: Non-Canon. One of the Slayers to develop a relationship with her Watcher. Very immature. Kept a journal during her time as a Slayer.

Personality and Appearance: Half American, half Philipino No muss, no fuss ponytail and sweats. She was lanky, toned, and tomboyish, dark hair and dark eyes. She was very giggly and teenage like, even after becoming the Slayer.

Bio: India, pronounced In-DEE-a Cohen was born in the summer of 1978 and grew up everywhere. She was the daughter of the captain of a major Naval Captain, and a famous actress (Odette Cohen) and moved regularly. She was called outside her house by her Watcher Kit Bothwell on June 23rd, 1993. She was only 15 at the time and held a strictly business relationship with Kit. But as time progressed and India got older, she and Kit could no longer hide their feelings, at least from each other. Though neither ever openly expressed it, the feelings were there. It did go unnoticed by the Watcher's Council, and that was imperitive. In 1993, India, her parents and Kit arrived in Yokosuka, Japan. She began to train with her father's fleet and took out several vamp nests in the area. On December 1st, 1993, she was tracked down by a family of samurai who's ancestors had been sired. They appointed her to the be the leader of their Clan and she led them into battle against their ancestors. They were victorious and she allowed one of the samurai to take creidt for killing Lord Asano, the head vampire. On September 23rd, 1995, her mother moved to Spain leaving behind India and her father. She also encountered the famous vampires Spike and Drusilla who had planned to kill her but didn't get the chance. Shortly thereafter, India and her father moved to San Diego, California. Once there, Kit bought her a dog, whom she named Mariposa. Then, in 1996 an ancient Mummy creature named a Wanderer attacked them, trying to steal India's essence. India sacrificed herself to save Kit and Mariposa, destroying Kit and sending him into a deep depression. It wasn't until she died that Kit ever actually realized his feelings for India completely. He got into contact with a woman named Cecille Lafitte who turned out to be a voodoo priestess who was living in another woman's body. She presented herself as a psychic who could help him contact India, distraught he accepted every word she spoke. Cecil brainwashed him and made him a servant of The Gatherer without him really knowing what was happening. Then He came into his final contact with India when in a final showdown, India inhabited the body of Willow Rosenberg, a friend of Slayer Buffy Summers. She apologized and threw herself off of a cliff to save Buffy and the other Slayer Faith, yet somehow though killing her spirit leaving Willow completely intact.
