Only weeks after Isabeau's birth, Watcher Council representative Gaston Roux arrived to inform her that she had been called at age 20, long after most girls are called. When he realized what had become of the Watcher/Slayer relationship, Eliane's husband/watcher Michel was sent to London to stand trial in the Council. He tried to sway her from her house by killing everyone in sight, wanting only the blood of the slayer. Finally, having had it with Eliane's refusal to help, Gaston ventured outside to confront Tatoul and was killed. Elaine, reacting as the Slayer and not as herself, flew outside without realizing that she still Gervais in her arms. With the speed of a vampire, Ttaoul snatched Gervais from her and killed him. He then turned the 5 year old and set about teaching him the kill. Eliane trained and prepared for a month and then Tatoul, and Gervais returned for her and Isabeau. She staked Tatoul, her first kill as the Slayer. She then staked her son and returned to her home. Vampires shortly thereafter burned her house to the ground killing her and burning her home to ashes. All but Isabeau, she was somehow protected, and was then returned to her father Michel in London.
